Grames' Work

My name is Grames (Gray), this is my portfolio. You can find my work below.I am adept in almost all of Adobe Creative Cloud, with experience working with video editing, online media creation, UI/UX, and logo/typeface design. I found my greatest strength to lie in graphical asset creation, alongside UI and game design. I have independent experience in content creation, tech writing, and am greatly skilled when it comes to computer software and hardware troubleshooting. I strive in digital environments.

Background: NCR: The Heist

In February of 2022, a few friends and I accepted the challenge of partaking in MMC 2022, a creative metaverse competition. We tasked ourselves with creating a game within Neos VR, a virtual reality social platform, and based our game off of the once booming Neos currency, NCR. It was a painstaking 28 days with plenty of crunch and long nights, but we got it out on time, happy with our work. We proceeded to win first place in the Games category for small teams.

Within the project I helped in many areas, including game design and mechanics, engine programming, with my primary focus on texturing and UI. The score room was completely textured by myself, as well as several components in the menu room. The typeface and font choice are from the design guidelines I created for the project. Below are several examples of interactable icons, logos and interfaces designed, vectorized, and animated within the game engine, alongside their dynamic logic.

Freelance

On occasion, during the monotony of everyday life, I would take time to design, whether it be for myself or others.A fairly large portion of my freelance work has been both pro-bono and using pre-existing content. For example, I have done fully fledged animations in After Effects, but using still frames of an existing comic. I have edited long 20 minute compilation videos, but of someone else's stream. As to not detract from the talent of my peers and myself, shown below is work that is solely my handiwork.

Bunfan Games

Late into 2021, I found myself creating my own documentation for itch.io game. I began working on custom mods for the game and in doing so, was able reverse engineer the files within the game to provide help to others. Soon after, I was brought aboard the development team. From that point on, I worked alongside a handful of other developers to create and evolve our first game. For the first several months I worked on documentation for the game, communicating and supplying necessary info to mod-creators and players alike. I created graphics, outlines, FAQ's, and directly helped those in need in the Discord server. As the game and company grew, so did my tasks. I worked alongside others in the creation and implementation of new mechanics and gameplay. I would step in and assist where need be with graphical assets for the game and UI/UX. This led to the beginning of another 2 games the team worked on, one of which can also be found here on my site, NCR: The Heist. The game took many turns in style and direction, and eventually, after hundreds of hours of work, I chose to depart from the company and focus on my own work.

Below are some of my works, including:
(1) initial mock up of a Charting Client
(2) some Discord and Twitch badges
(3) prototype score screens
(4) early mock up of a Steam workshop browser

Furry Weekend

There is a convention in Atlanta, Georgia that I have attended for several years. This convention was a large part of my growth with friends and creativity, the community it homes is a great source of joy for me and many others. Late into 2023, I chose to apply to the team behind this gathering and to my surprise, was given the chance to work alongside those who make the magic happen. Furry Weekend Atlanta, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization and I am a volunteer team member.

In this section, you can see work I have done for;(1) the on-stream overlay, both during performances and breaks of our local DJ events. The warehouse style of music and dance inspired me to make it themed to older VCR player overlays.(2) This work was used during a gift given to lucky participants to earn a free attendance to the convention. I was tasked with this and was given a very short deadline. I was happy how it turned out in only one day of back and forth and work.(3) These were the signage I created for our festival themed nights at the convention. These rules and signs were very important both for the safety of the attendees and the guidance to those new to this sort of function.

I have worked on many projects for the convention and marketing, ranging from signage and posters, to logos and stream assets. My most recent and largest contribution was my work on the 2025 convention logo in the theme of Future Punk. I took great inspiration from media and games I was engrossed in at the time and created what felt to me as a futuristic take on the organization's logo. The final product can be found below, with the assistant of our talented art team for the background, and my team lead for the subtext name and design.
